BigPoint Games recently announced their answer to the Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) genre called Universal Monsters Online.  Partnering up with Universal Pictures, BigPoint promises a free to play battle arena featuring all the well known monsters and villains from classic Universal Pictures’ films.  Players can chose from Dracula, Van Helsing, The Invisible Man, the Wolfman, the Scarecrow, Frankenstein’s Monster, the Bride of Frankenstein, or the Creature from the Black Lagoon, with many more characters to be announced soon.

The game is built in the Unity engine, giving it cross platform capability to nearly any system that can run a web browser.  Players wishing to gain unique weapons, character skins, or unlock new characters can do so with virtual currency they can buy.  The game will allow players to try out these new features and characters for a limited time before they’re required to buy them.
